About
From Buenos Aires to Berlin — a workshop shaped by friendship, restoration and the love of bringing oldschool bikes back to the streets.
From Buenos Aires to Berlin
In 2015, Nazareno moved from Buenos Aires to Berlin, where he bought his first bike to avoid multiple transfers in his daily commute across a busy city. Add to that four years working as a courier, which increased the time he spent on a bike to 40 hours a week, and the overall cycling experience was enough to understand how bikes are meant to be used, and how they really function.
From repair to restoration
In 2020, after his bike got wrecked in an accident, Nazareno bought a second-hand bicycle that needed repairs. With the help of a mechanic friend he brought the vintage bike back to life — that was the moment when it all came together.
Bikes stopped being a thing to ride and became something to fix, adjust, and rethink. The custom work started at home, moved to basements, and eventually needed a real place. In 2021, that place became Blaulicht Bike Club — a workshop in Wedding.
A shared vision, built by hand
Santiago, also originally from Buenos Aires, moved to Berlin in 2021. He grew up surrounded by bicycles — his father, a member of a racing team, became Santiago’s coach and mechanic. A passion for competitive cycling has been passed down as a family trait. After a gap of several years, Santiago returned to bicycles thanks to a vintage bike restoration project.
A simple attempt to sell a bicycle led to a friendship between Santiago and Nazareno. This formed the foundation for teamwork and the development of the project: Blaulicht now is the result of a shared vision and a complementary combination of qualities that include technical skills, design, facilitation and strategy.
Old tradition. New life.
Today, Blaulicht is a place for building bikes with a clear purpose. We research and work with the oldschool brands that represent quality, reimagine them in the modern environment and give them a second, upgraded life. At last, they’re ready to come back to their natural habitat: for a daily ride through the city streets.
